The Rajavi's speech, which called for resistance to the Iranian government, was transmitted by satellite to Iran.... Iranian Dissident Leader Urges Embargo of Tehran, Reuters, June 16 DORTMUND, Germany - An Iranian dissident leader, barred by Bonn from addressing a rally in Germany, appealed by video on Friday for an international economic embargo against Tehran's Islamic fundamentalist government. Maryam Rajavi, designated by the Paris-based National Council of Resistance of Iran as the country's future president, told exiled compatriots the time had come to turn up the economic pressure on Tehran. "An embargo against this regime is a demand of the Iranian people who do not want to see their national wealth and natural resources plundered by the mullahs and their revenues spent on suppression and the export of fundamentalism and terrorism," she said in a live transmission shown on a large screen.... Rajavi Challenges Mullahs to Hold Free Elections in Iran, June 16 NCR President, Massoud Rajavi, said that: The magnificent gathering of Iranian compatriots in Dortmund, Germany, to hear the speech of the Iranian Resistance's President-elect, Maryam Rajavi... indicated the support of the overwhelming majority of the people of Iran for President Maryam Rajavi and the democratic alternative.... Such an unprecedented meeting convening 4,000 kms away from the Iranian borders, ... shows that if the people of Iran enjoyed freedom of choice and action in their country, how they would have risen up in support of this President.... Now, if the terrorist-religious dictatorship denies this truth, it should accept to hold a free presidential election with sufficient guarantees and under the auspices of the United Nations. Without doubt, in such an election, the criminal mullahs will be swept away into the dust bin.... Rajavi Urges G7 Leaders to Impose Complete Embargo on Mullahs, Excerpts from Mr. Rajavi's telegram to the G7 leaders, June 16 The unabated flow of petro-dollars to the treasury of this medieval dictatorship has supplied it with the funds to cover the heavy expenses of suppression of the Iranian people, export of insecurity, terrorism, fundamentalism, opposition to the peace process, and stockpiling of conventional and unconventional weapons. ... This is why the decisive move by the US to impose a trade embargo on the regime was extensively welcomed by the Iranian people. Contrary to the regime's propaganda, this embargo is to the detriment of only the regime and Iranians have nothing to lose. Even though only a week has past since the practical implementation of the embargo, the mullahs' regime is according to reports of European experts caught up in dire political and economic straits, NCR President added. On the other hand, the Iranian people have actively shown their support for the Resistance's call for the establishment of democracy by staging large uprisings in various cities, despite the vast suppression, mass executions and public hangings in Iran's streets. Certainly, in the absence of foreign aid to this regime the Iranian people and Resistance will be able to settle their accounts with the Khomeini regime and establish democracy in Iran much faster.
