Middle Eastern countries... focus their intelligence activities on their own citizens in exile and on procurement of weapons and advanced technology. The BfV devoted a large section of its report to Iran, which it said put extensive efforts into spying on members of exiled opposition groups with a view to making them give up their opposition to Tehran's Islamic government or return home. Iran was also working hard to obtain technical information and goods with military uses to support what the BfV called a long- standing goal of independently developing atomic and chemical weapons of mass destruction, the BfV said... More Execution of Women, Israeli radio, July 2 Iranian circles in Europe today said the Islamic Republic is planning the public stoning of two women in near future, on the charge of illicit relations... The two women, Saba Abdoli and Zeinab Haydari, were caught on May 8 and are going to be stoned in upcoming days in the city of Ilarn Gharb. INTERNATIONAL TERRORISM Mullahs Training Terrorists, Alhayat, July 2 A Russian specialist has accused Iran and several Islamic countries that they are cultivating fundamentalism in central Asian countries. The Interfax news agency quoting this expert said Iran in contrast to the moderate countries is depending on the terrorist groups opposing the governments in central Asia... And added that the Iranian intelligence service is taking advantage of the situation in borders, specifically of Uzbakestan, and dispatches money, mercenaries and advocates. This expert did not say through which country these actions take place, since Iran does not have any common borders with Uzbakestan... According to the TTU, "Iran aids four fundamentalist groups in Egypt, some through the refugee movements in the United States (Sheikh Abdul-Rahman), five Islamist organizations in Iraq and the Popular Arab and Islamic Congress in the Sudan."
