Massoud Rajavi: 35th U.N. Resolution Condemning
Mullahs' Regime Necessitates Security Council's Adoption
of Binding Punishments, From a statement by the

        The forty-seventh session of the U.N. Sub-
Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and
Protection of Minorities at the U.N. European
Headquarters in Geneva adopted a strongly-worded
resolution condemning the persisting and flagrant
violations of human rights by the mullahs ruling Iran....
        Commenting on the resolution, Mr. Massoud Rajavi,
President of the National Council of Resistance, said: The
adoption of this resolution, the 35th condemning the
ruling religious, terrorist dictatorship by a U.N. organ,
reaffirms the illegitimacy and irreformability of the
regime in its entirety. A fact to which, the large
gatherings of Iranians abroad, including the 15,000
strong meeting in Dortmund to hear the speech by the
Resistance's President-elect, and the extensive activities
of the citizenry inside Iran in support of the Iranian
Resistance last June, attested.
        Mr. Rajavi added: The international community's
expression of abhorrence at this medieval regime's
human rights abuses in Iran and its export of terrorism
and violation of international laws and resolutions is
quite necessary. But in and of itself is not sufficient. The
mullahs take maximum advantage of the international
community's inaction towards their crimes. The time has
come, therefore, that the U.N. Security Council earnestly
place on its agenda the adoption of binding decisions and
specific punishments, including a comprehensive oil, arms
and technological embargo of this anti-human regime.
        The Sub-Commission's resolution "condemns" the
"excessive use of the death penalty," the "numerous cases
of torture and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment and
punishment," "the use of excessive force and guns in
suppressing public demonstrations" and "harassment and
intimidation of people by street patrols."
        The resolution ... takes note of the regime's
involvement in terrorism and "active spying on Iranian
refugees" in Germany and calls for an "inquiry into the
assassination abroad on 17 May and 10 July 1995 of five
members of the Iranian resistance" which involved
agents of the mullahs' regime....
        The resolution also calls for the "return for trial in
Switzerland of two persons accused of the murder of
Professor Kazem Rajavi," the great advocate of human
rights in Iran.


Publisher of Iranian Book Bombed, Reuters, August 24

        TEHRAN - A bomb exploded in the Tehran offices
of the publishers of a novel which mocked Islamic
activists, the publisher said on Thursday.
        No one was hurt in the blast on Wednesday at the
Morghe-e Amin publishing house and bookshop but the
premises were badly damaged.
        Publisher Ebrahim Rahimi Khamenei said five men
carried out the attack. Newspapers had criticized him for
publishing "And Gods Laugh on Mondays" by Mohammad
Reza Koshbin Khoshnazar, calling it immoral....


Russia to Supply Iran with Nuclear Fuel, Reuters, August
24

        MOSCOW - Russia has signed an agreement to
supply Tehran with nuclear fuel for a controversial
nuclear power plant in southern Iran, Russian Atomic
Energy Minister Viktor Mikhailov said on Thursday.
        He told Interfax news agency the deal to supply the
fuel for 10 years at an annual cost of $30 million was
part of an addendum to a contract with Moscow to
complete building the plant in Bushehr, about 750 km
(470 miles) south of Tehran....
        The United States has expressed concern that Iran
could use the technology involved in the planned station's
two light-water reactors to make nuclear weapons. Iran
has denied it has any such intention.


Our Opponents Stronger than Ever-Khamenei, Israeli
Radio, August 15

        Today, Khamenei said that the enemies of Islam
have mobilized all their capabilities for attacking Islam....
        He said that the international arrogance front, from
Zionism to the United States and the oil companies and
the paid writers and intellectuals that work for them, are
well equipped all over the world.
        Khamenei added that the front against Islam has
never been equipped with so many instruments....
