Mr. Rajavi expressed hope that with the full restitution of the rights of the people of Palestine and all the countries in the region, comprehensive and lasting peace be established in the region. Experience has shown that the religious terrorist dictatorship ruling Iran, as the prime source of hostility and opposition to peace, is the only party harmed by the establishment of peace and coexistence in the region. Iran Holds Civil Defense Exercises in Tehran, Reuters, September 29 More than 30,000 members of Iran's "Basij" volunteer forces and Islamic Revolutionary Guards corps converged on Tehran on Friday to take part in urban defense exercises, the official Iran News Agency (IRNA) said. It quoted a Basij member as saying the exercises, part of events marking the start 15 years ago of the eight-year Iran-Iraq war, were aimed at improving their ability to defend the city "in case of natural disasters or threats posed by the enemies of Islam."... China Sends Mixed Signals Over Deal with Iran, The New York Times, September 30 The Chinese Foreign Minister asserted... that the sale of two Chinese nuclear reactors to Iran was merely suspended "for the time being" and not canceled as American officials reported.... On Wednesday, after Foreign Minister Qian Qichen met for nearly two hours with Secretary of State Warren Christopher, a senior American official told reporters that the pending sale of the 300-megawatt reactors, a key irritant in Chinese-American relations, had been terminated.... Senior State Department officials said in response to Mr. Qian's denial that the Chinese Foreign Minister had indeed told Mr. Christopher that the deal with Iran was canceled... Russia to Keep Iran Nuclear Deal After China Quits, Reuters, September 29 MOSCOW - Russia said on Friday it will keep nuclear reactor contracts with Iran unchanged, after China said it had scrapped a similar deal opposed by the U.S. Viktor Sidorenko, deputy Atomic Energy Minister, told Reuters: "Our working group is at the site in Iran, they are working normally. We have no plans at all to stop the work.".. Call for More Pressure on Terrorist Mullahs, Iran Zamin News Agency, October 1 According to the Swiss periodical International Review, responsible countries in the world must consider more economic and political pressure on Iran's regime. The periodical described assassination attempt against Hosni Mobarak, the Egyptian President, in Adis-abbaba as the result of support for terrorism and fundamentalism in central and north Africa by the Iranian regime. Solidarity Fund in Norway, Iran Zamin News Agency, October 1 The national union of schools in Norway formed the "Solidarity Fund," an aide fund to assist the women and children without support. This fund is supervised by the Committee in Support of Human Rights in Iran. The publication of the union announcing the news wrote that the objectives of forming this committee were gathering information regarding repression of the Iranian people by the mullahs, the regime's terrorism outside the country, and establishing contacts with the representatives of the Iranian resistance in Norway. The Committee in Support of Human Rights in Iran, in its constitution has described the mullahs' regime as a dangerous regime which violates the basic human rights.
