Shortly after the explosion, Mr. Massoud Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, sent a telegram to the United Nations Secretary General and the Security Council, calling on them to urgently address the crimes of the religious, terrorist dictatorship ruling Iran. He stressed that in the face of the Iranian people's increasing discontent and protests and the impressive advances of the Iranian Resistance at home and abroad, the mullahs have found the only recourse in suppression, terror and export of terrorism beyond Iran's borders.... ... Mr. Rajavi added: This was the mullahs' 36th terrorist attack against the Mojahedin on Iraqi territory during the past three years.... The Mojahedin... calls on the Iraqi government and responsible officials to immediately pursue this flagrant crime, search for, prosecute and punish the terrorists and close down the mullahs' nest of terror and espionage in the Iraqi capital. It is worthy of note that in its September 22 statement, copies of which were forwarded to competent international officials and bodies, the Mojahedin office in Baghdad had warned that the Khomeini regime is preparing the stage for new terrorist attacks against the Mojahedin on Iraqi soil and that, to this end, the Pasdaran had transferred large amounts of weapons and ammunition to the Iraqi Kurdistan to be used with the help local mercenaries in terrorist assaults against the Mojahedin deep inside Iraqi territory. Bomb Explodes at Baghdad Office of Iranian Group, Reuters, November 27 BAGHDAD - A car bomb exploded on Sunday night near the headquarters of the Iranian opposition Mujahideen Khalq in central Baghdad.... Mujahideen Khalq spokesman Farid Suleimani blamed staff from the Iranian embassy in Baghdad. "The Iranian embassy in Baghdad is directly behind this attack, as it was behind previous attacks against mujahideen in Iraq," he said. This is the third attack on Mujahideen Khalq this year. On July 10, three of its members were shot dead while driving in central Baghdad. The second attack was in May when two women from the organization were also shot dead north of Baghdad.... Rajavi Calls for Public Trial of Murderers of a Mojahedin Member, from statement by NCR, November 27 Subsequent to the arrest by the Turkish police of a number of the kidnappers, torturers and murders of Mr. Akbar Ghorbani, a member of the Mojahedin organization, Mr. Massoud Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, sent a telegram to the Turkish Prime Minister, calling for a public trial of the terrorists, wherein the Iranian Resistance's representatives, including the family of Mr. Ghorbani could participate. In his telegram, Mr. Rajavi said: In repeated interrogation sessions, torturers dispatched from Tehran severed Mr. Ghorbani's nose and genitals and pulled out his nails. Owing to his refusal to cooperate with them, they finally executed him in Turkey. The NCR President added: This barbaric crime and many similar cases, including abduction and murder of Iranian dissidents as well as assassination of the Resistance's activists, reflect before anything else the unprecedentedly and astoundingly free rein the clerical regime's terrorists enjoy in your country. This is a matter which has been exacerbated due to frequent security agreements between your government and the Tehran regime's intelligence officials, first and foremost victimizing Iranian asylum-seekers.... Rafsanjani Increases "Defense" Budget, Associated Press, November 26 According to Associated Press, Tehran Radio reported that Rafsanjani presented his $46.1 billions budget for the next year to the parliament. Based on this plan the "defense" appropriations would be about $1.9 billions, which is 30% more than the current budget. The predicted revenue of the government for the next year is estimated at $18.1 billions, half of which would be earned from oil exports.
