The newspaper Iran News quoted Yazdi as saying Iran would allow the commission's new representative, replacing Salvadorian lawyer Reynaldo Galindo Pohl, to visit Iran "with the sole condition that (his) report...must be based on 'facts.'" Tehran had refused to admit Galindo Pohl for the past four years, accusing him of issuing biased reports based on unsubstantiated data obtained from opposition and other foreign sources. The United Nations has in the past decade repeatedly censured Iran for widespread violations of human rights, in resolutions mainly based on Galindo Pohl's reports. Mullahs Terrorism: A Source of Danger in Bosnia, Voice of America, Farsi Program, December 4 U.S. Joint Chief of Staff says that the Bosnian president has given assurance that foreign Muslim fighters will leave Bosnia. He says several hundred of Muslim fighters in Bosnia, including Afghan Mujahideen, are foreigners... The Joint Chief of Staff, who was speaking in a televised interview, said that Washington is concerned about these fighters, some of whom are believed to be from Iran, posing danger to American troops.... Tehran-Backed Terrorist Activities Have Increased in Romania, Iran Zamin News Agency, November 27 Romanian secret service has issued a warning regarding an increase in the activities of Islamic extremist groups in that country. According to Reuters, the Romanian secret service, in its annual report to the parliament of that country, part of which was published on November 17, presented a list of Middle Eastern extremist groups who operate in Romania. According to this report, Iranian-backed terrorist groups are trying to recruit foreign Muslims in Romania. The daily Romania Libera quoted the report as saying: "These organizations have intensified their activities in forming groups and recruiting members in Romania." These groups are supported by "the Muslim Student Associations," which are legally registered in the country, according to the secret service.... More Industrial Shutdown, Iran Zamin News Agency, December 4 Because of lack of essential materials, Alborz Factory, in Qazvin (north Tehran), has been closed for two months and its 150 workers were laid off. The factory managers have recently told the workers that since the factory is not able to obtain these materials, those workers who wish may be bought off.
