It said it was recalling its ambassador to Tehran... "A serious conspiracy has been uncovered which reveals that an organization known as the military wing of Hizbollah-Bahrain, together with Iranian authorities, have been plotting since early 1993 to undermine Bahrain's security and stability," an Interior Ministry statement said. "The movement's main aim is to stage an armed revolution to overthrow the Bahrain government by force and replace it with a pro- Iranian regime," it added.... The Bahrain statement said: "The principal defendants, together with others, founded the terrorist organization in the city of Qom in...Iran, under the guidance and with the full financial and resource backing of Iranian authorities.... Associated Press, June 3 - Al-Muttawa [Bahrain's information minister] said caches of light weapons were seized from the alleged plotters, who were trained by Iran's Revolutionary Guards.... The accusations are certain to worsen the already uneasy relationship between Bahrain and Iran, its giant neighbor across the Persian Gulf. Bahrain repeatedly has accused Tehran of being behind a Shiite-led wave of unrest that began 18 months ago in which 28 people have reportedly been killed.... The chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. John Shalikashvili, suggested last week that Iran was involved in the continuing unrest in Bahrain.... Mullahs' Top Leader Vows to Resist U.S. on Khomeini Anniversary Associated Press, June 3 - In a speech inside the shrine [of Khomeini], Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Khomeini's successor as spiritual leader, reassured his nation of 60 million that the late patriarch's revolutionary message is still heard around the world.... He vowed that just as Khomeini had not buckled under pressure from the United States and the West, the nation that inherited his legacy would stand firm.... "The Americans say that we should turn a blind eye to the Palestinian people and sign the imposed compromise with Israel. "It is obvious that the Iranian people, effectively and forcefully, reject this path and regard anyone who follows it a traitor," Khamenei declared. "Death to America," the crowd roared in response, and "Death to Israel."... Tehran Smuggle Arms to Saudi Arabia, Agence France Presse, June 3 Government authorities in Persian Gulf announced that recently an illegal shipment of weaponry and explosives from Iran was confiscated in northern United Arab Emirates. One authority said the confiscation took place few weeks ago and that the weapons were bound to the Saudi Arabia.... Iran's Hezbollah Threatens the New Parliament, BBC Radio, June 1 The state-run daily Resalat covered a statement by Ansar-e Hezbollah group, saying that those parliament deputies who have ties with affluent and entrepreneurs must be identified for people... The Ansar-e Hezbollah emphasized that if some individuals in Majlis decide to open the door of conciliation with the U.S. and participate in the Middle East compromise on Palestine, their sons will... take them from their seats in the parliament, bring them to the streets and put them in public revolutionary trial... French Company Sneers at U.S. Sanction on Iran, Dow Jones News, June 3 PARIS-French oil company Total SA said it had replied March 22 to a letter from Sen. Alphonse D'Amato, R-N.Y., threatening sanctions if it invests in Iran....
