The party's leadership called on the British Parliament, European Parliament, European Council and the United Nations to condemn the anti-human and terrorist policies of the mullahs' regime and supported the Iranian people's resistance. The resolution, citing the brutal violation of human rights in Iran, asked the party's National Executive Committee to discuss the issue in international forums and request that the [British] government present the matter at the U.N. Security Council. Iran-Educated Shi'ite Wins Kuwait Assembly Seat, Reuters, October 7 KUWAIT - Controversial Iran-educated Shi'ite Moslem scholar Hussein Qalaf and international financier Jassim al-Kharafi both secured parliament seats in Kuwait's second election since the 1991 Gulf War.... Qalaf was educated in the Iranian holy city of Qom and traces his family tree to the Prophet Mohammad.... In his last campaign speech on Sunday night, Qalaf, 38, steered away from many controversial questions but he was firm in his criticism of Israel. "All Moslems have hatred for Jews in their hearts and fight Jews, it is not a matter of Shi'ites and Sunnis," he said.... Germany Denies Bogus Claim by Iran Regarding Kinkel's Visit, Iran Zamin News Agency, October 7 The Foreign Ministry of Germany denied Velayati's claim regarding Germany's Foreign Minister's visit to Iran. On Friday, Velayati announced that Klaus Kinkel was scheduled to visit Iran. A few hours later, however, Germany's Foreign Ministry said: "No such visit is scheduled by Kinkel. No date has been set and he does not have such a plan." The spokesman added: "Velayati is moving too fast." Turkey Denies Its Diplomats Linked to Spying, Reuters, October 7 ANKARA- Turkey on Monday rejected Iranian allegations that its diplomats had helped a spy.... Iran said in April it had uncovered five spy networks led by Turkish diplomats that threatened security in Iran. The allegations were made shortly after a row in which Tehran asked Ankara to withdraw four Turkish diplomats accused of leading spy rings in Iran, and Turkey expelled four Iranian diplomats for their alleged links to killings of Iranian exiles. Iran's ties with Turkey were further strained over Tehran's objections to Ankara's military accord with Israel.... Widespread Arrests in Tehran, Agence France Presse, October 6 According to daily Kayhan, Tehran's police has detained 200 "violators and vagrants," accused of drug dealing, and consuming alcoholic beverages and dealing foreign currencies. According to the paper, the arrest of these "wanderers," among whom some were women, is in the framework of war against misdemeanors in park and poor neighborhoods in central Tehran.... "Did you know that everyday, there at least 150 case of purse snatching of women by cyclists? "Did you know that everyday, at least 4 tons of opium is used and 100 cars are stolen? "Did you know that 1.4 million divorce cases are in process? "Did you know that to hold a wedding party you have to get permits from Public Facilities Section so that no music is played? "Did you know the relatives of those who are secretly executed by revolutionary courts, must pay a bullet cost to find out the whereabouts of the burial place of their loved ones, or otherwise they will not be told?..."
