Day of Fighting Against "World Arrogance", State-
Run Tehran Radio, October 21 
 
	The national day of fighting against the 
"World Arrogance", the United States, will be 
conducted like previous years on Aban the 13th 
[November the 2nd] and demonstrations and 
gatherings against the United States will take place 
all over the country. 
	Deputy director of Islamic propaganda 
council described the special plans for that day and 
invited various groups of people ... to emphasize on 
resisting against the Great Satan's conspiracies by 
participating in the demonstrations.... 
 
 
Nerve Gas Production, Iran Zamin News Agency, 
October 22 
 
	Quoting Western sources, the Arabic daily 
Al-Hayat wrote that if Iran succeeds in completing 
its project for production of nerve gas, the Persian 
Gulf Emirates will be threatened and the Middle 
East's stability will drastically change. 
	the Western intelligence agencies are so 
concerned about Iran's achievements in this regard, 
that intend to examine all the intelligence reports in 
detail, Al-Hayat wrote. 
	According to the Western sources in recent 
years Iran has spent large sums of money in order to 
independently produce weapons of mass-destruction.  
	These efforts are aimed at producing 
chemical, nuclear and biological weapons and are 
conducted under direct supervision of Rafsanjani. In 
the area of chemical weapons, Iran has spent 
millions of dollars and has made major achievements 
in producing weapons empowered with nerve gas, 
Al-Hayat wrote. 
 
 
Mullahs' Military Builds Its First Hovercraft, 
Reuters, October 23  
 
	Iran's first locally-built hovercraft has been 
successfully tested, a newspaper said on Wednesday. 
	The daily Kayhan said the three-seater 
Dolphin, designed and built by a military research 
center in the southern city of Shiraz, was 
successfully tested on sea and land.... 
 
 
NCR Condemns Turkey's Cooperation With Mullahs 
Against Iranian Refugees, Iran Zamin News Agency, 
October 23 
 
	The National Council of Resistance of Iran 
issued a statement indicating that according to the 
Reuters, Ali Akbar Velayati "announced an 
agreement with Turkey to prevent cross-border 
movements of opposition groups and that 
simultaneous operations had already begun against 
opposition groups in the border area." 
	The NCR said that it views the accord as "a 
prelude to more criminal actions against Iranian 
refugees in Turkey," and indicated that the 
government of Turkey is responsible for 
guaranteeing the safety and security of the Iranian 
refugees residing in that country. 
	"In the past years, using diplomatic 
facilities and directly guided by the mullahs' embassy 
in Turkey, the Tehran regime's hit squads have 
assassinated or abducted and murdered after brutal 
torture scores of Iranian dissidents and asylum-
seekers. Also, the regime's exported terrorists have 
killed a number of Turkish intellectuals, journalists 
and writers," the statement said. 
 
 
Iran's Ambitions in Central Asia, Wall Street 
Journal, October 21 
 
	... Both Russia and Iran see [Azerbaijan] as 
part of their natural spheres of influence. For them, 
dominating Azerbaijan means holding sway over an 
oil source only Western technology can develop.... 
	Russia and Persia first split Azerbaijan 
between them more than 150 years ago; 16 million 
Azeris live in Iran today, more than twice the 
population of Azerbaijan proper.... 
	But if Russia's tactics have achieved 
anything so far, it has been to steer Azerbaijan in the 
direction of Iran. With the Russian border blocked, 
everything the country needs comes from the south. 
Each day, hundreds of Iranian trucks raise dust 
clouds in Baku parking fields. Every shop and stall 
stacks their wares. In return, Iranian tank trucks 
carry south some of the oil still pumped from old 
Soviet wells. 
	"We are their lifeline," says a political 
officer at Iran's embassy here. The ambassador, 
Alireza Bikdeli, an Azeri himself, puts it more 
gently. "We approach them as neighbors," he says. 
"We feel we can help our Azeri brothers."...
