Khatami Appointed Another Terrorist As His Advisor, Iran Zamin News Agency, October 14

The National Council of Resistance of Iran issued a statement on Tuesday regarding a decree by Khatami, appointing Alireza Mo'ayyeri as advisor to him in charge of coordinating his office's affairs.

The NCR's statement says: Mo'ayyeri was the regime's chargé d'affaires in its embassy in France in 1985-86, and also served as advisor to Rafsanjani on international affairs.

According to NCR, Mo'ayyeri's appointment, which followed naming of former prime minister Moussavi as senior advisor to the regime's president, indicates the fact that Khatami needs to rely on suppression and export of terrorism more than ever before. He is neither capable of nor inclined to bring about any change or the slightest reform in the Velayat-e Faqih regime.

Mo'ayyeri is affiliated with the "Line of the Imam" or the "Assembly of Combatant Clerics" who advocate totalitarian policies at home, hostility to the Middle East peace process and export of terrorism.

According to reports from within the clerical regime, Khatami is planning to name more advisors from among the leaders of this faction, including mullah Moussavi Kho'einiha who led the occupation of the American embassy in Tehran in 1979, and Ali Akbar Mohtashami, former Minister of Interior and mastermind of bloody terrorist operations in Lebanon.

The NCR's statement indicated that Mo'ayyeri's main mission in France was to design and carry out a highly complicated and expensive scheme to assassinate Mr. Massoud Rajavi, President of the NCR.

In 1992, Mo'ayyeri was appointed as head of Khamenei's office to support terrorist groups in Asia and Middle East. He attended all of the National Security Council sessions and was directly involved in the assassination of many of the regime's opponents abroad.

Iran Says Will Continue Backing Lebanese Hizbollah, Reuter, October 12

Iran has pledged continued support for Lebanon's pro-Iranian militant Islamic group Hizbollah, the Iranian news agency IRNA said on Sunday.
