Resistance urges attention to plight of Iranian asylum seekers in Turkey sit-in

The National Council of Resistance of Iran calls for urgent attention to the plight of Iranian asylum seekers in Turkey, particularly those who have staged a sit-in in the last nine months in the office of one of that country's parties.

The NCR urges the United Nations, the government of Turkey and the office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees to secure the safety of these victims and provide the needed resources to relocate them in Europe and the United States.

Having fled their homeland due to intolerable pressures and repression in Iran under the reign of the mullahs, these asylum seekers will be arrested, tortured and even executed if extradited to Iran. Thus, any complacency regarding their plight and refusal to grant them refugee status only benefits the mullahs' religious, terrorist dictatorship.

In the years past, using diplomatic facilities and directly guided by the mullahs' embassy in Turkey, the Tehran regime's hit squads have assassinated, or abducted and murdered after brutal tortures scores of Iranian dissidents and asylum seekers.

The leader of a terrorist group recently arrested in Turkey admitted that the clerical regime's embassy in Ankara had provided him weapons to murder Iranian dissidents and anti-fundamentalist Turkish intellectuals.
