Participating in Women's World Conference in Beijing Iranian Resistance Advocates Justice and Equality for Iranian Women

A delegation of Iranian Resistance's women has taken part in the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing. It is headed by Mrs. Maryam Matin-Daftary, chairwoman of the NCR Committee on Women's Rights and Freedoms.

The Iranian Resistance's women participated in the NGO forum since August 30. Holding and taking part in different meetings, the delegation represents the Iranian women with their various ideologies and faiths.

On Sunday, September 3 a meeting was held at the NGO conference on "the solution to fundamentalism." The director of the meeting was Mrs. Fariba Hashtroodi, journalist and member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran. Mmes. Maryam Matin-Daftari and Soona Samsami, member of the NCR, spoke to the audience. In her speech to the meeting which was warmly and actively received by women from various European and Asian countries, Mrs. Matin-Daftari said: "The Iranian women have struggled for their equal rights in Iran for the past 100 years and today, with the overthrow of the misogynist Khomeini regime, they will definitely achieve social justice and freedom."

Sunday afternoon, the Association of Iranian Women in Britain held another meeting. The speakers were Mmes. Soheila Sadeq and Zinat Mir-Hashemi, ranking members of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, who elaborated on the epics created by the Iranian women in their resistance against the Khomeini regime. The meeting included a video show on the crimes of the mullahs' regime against the Iranian women.

In another event, in the main session of the NGO Forum, Mrs. Fereshteh Karimi, also member of the NCR, had a brief speech on the threat of Islamic fundamentalism and its solution. Her words were warmly encouraged by women from all over the world.
