Resistance's President-elect Meets with Eric Solheim, Socialist Party Chair

Mr. Eric Solheim, chairman of the Socialist Party of Norway, visited and held talks this morning with Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the Iranian Resistance's President-elect, at her place of residence in Oslo. The party's secretary for foreign relations was also present.

Mr. Solheim extended his gratitude to the Resistance's President-elect for her participation in the Foreign Affairs Committee session at the Parliament and briefing the members on the circumstances in Iran and the rising status of the Iranian Resistance.

My goal in coming to Norway is to convey the voice of the suffering people of Iran and particularly the Iranian women to the people of your country who have a long-standing tradition in giving support to the movements which strive for democracy and freedom, Mrs. Rajavi emphasized.

The Iranian Resistance's President-elect added: It is not the people of Iran alone who suffer under the oppression of the mullahs' religious and terrorist dictatorship. Because the mullahs' regime exports terrorism and fundamentalism abroad, it has now turned into a serious and dangerous threat to peace and security in the Middle East and stability in the Islamic countries, Mrs. Rajavi stressed and concluded: A common and international solution is therefore needed to counter this regime.

Condemning the crimes of the mullahs ruling Iran, Mr. Solheim stressed: We believe it is the irrefutable right of the Iranian people to undertake armed resistance against this regime, just as the people of Norway fought the Hitlerian Fascism in the same manner.

In the conclusion, Mr. Solheim expressed his wishes for the success of Mrs. Rajavi and the Iranian Resistance in their efforts to establish democracy and freedom in Iran.
