Iranian Resistance Condemns Velayati's Trip to Germany

The National Council of Resistance of Iran vehemently condemns the German Government's invitation of the foreign minister of the mullahs' religious, terrorist dictatorship to a conference on "Europe and the Islamic World" in Bonn and considers it to be against the highest interests of the Iranian people.

The objective of the seminar is said to be seeking to clarify "the difference between Islam and the phenomenon of extremist fundamentalism which takes advantage of Islam to further political goals." As the nerve center of fundamentalism in Tehran, the mullahs' regime is the prime source of export of terrorism and fundamentalism to the region and other parts of the world.

The mullahs' foreign minister is invited to this seminar while the regime lacks the slightest base and legitimacy among the people of Iran. After 16 years of an abominable rule, the regime cannot deceive any one on its claims to Islam. The overwhelming majority of the people of Iran hate the mullahs and are fully aware that the crimes of this regime has nothing to do with Islam.

Just recently, the mullahs' regime ratified an unprecedented set of laws to impose its yet most repressive rule on the society. Any association of more than two people, any insult to government officials and any form of protest will be punished by flogging, fines, and up to 10 years in prison. This is only when the victim is not accused of "Waging War on God" for supporting the Iranian Resistance, the punishment for which is execution. At the same time, the regime's official newspapers report on the blinding of young girls and the extensive arrest of the youngsters for wearing "western clothes."

Efforts by Germany and other European countries justified under the pretext of critical dialogue have so far failed to bring about the cancellation of Rushdie's death decree. Rafsanjani and Khamenei have time and again insisted on this anti-Islamic and anti-human decree.

In such circumstances, inviting the leaders of this criminal regime to a seminar on Islam, is an obvious affront to the people of Iran and Muslims throughout the world, only serving to whitewash the regime's crimes and break its isolation, and legitimizing other countries' security cooperation and petty economic relations with it .

If the objective is truly getting acquainted with Islam and bringing closer different religions and cultures, then the People's Mojahedin of Iran - who believe in a democratic, tolerant and anti-fundamentalist Islam - and the National Council of Resistance of Iran which represents the majority of the Iranian people, should have represented Iran in this seminar.

The Iranian Resistance calls on the people of Germany and other countries, and particularly Islamic nations, to state their opposition to the participation of the mullahs' foreign minister in the Bonn conference on "Europe and the Islamic World", condemn the policy of appeasement of the Khomeini regime and extensive political and economic relations with it. Such an approach only emboldens the religious, terrorist dictatorship in continuing its crimes within and without Iran.

To clarify and present further details, the representative office of the National Council of Resistance of Iran will hold a press conference in Bonn on November 14.
