Iran: Eight executions in Tehran and Birjand

Six individuals were hanged in public on Wednesday, March 8, in the village of Khalf Darreh-Charm near Birjand in eastern Iran.

A religious judge in Tehran sentenced to death a woman and a young man identified as Rahman Malek-Mohammadi, Hamshahri newspaper reported on Thursday, March 9.

In a separate incident, members of the mullahs' State Security Forces opened fire on a passenger car at a checkpoint in western Iran on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 7. One of the passengers, Nozad Azimi, a villager from Paveh, was killed in the shooting.
