NCR welcomes Danish Foreign Minister's remarks on need to abandon critical dialogue

In an interview with a Danish newspaper today, Mr. Niels Helveg Petersen, the Foreign Minister of Denmark, said: "I do not believe critical dialogue with Iran will amount to anything... I do not see any reason for the dialogue to continue."

The National Council of Resistance of Iran welcomes the Danish Foreign Minister's remarks and urges the Government of Denmark to take immediate, practical steps to end the policy of critical dialogue with the religious, terrorist dictatorship ruling Iran. Doubtless, such an initiative would be welcomed by the Iranian people, who yearn for the overthrow of this medieval regime's and the establishment of democracy in their country.

The NCR also calls on the European Union to abandon critical dialogue and join the trade sanctions against the mullahs. This is the demand of the overwhelming majority of the Iranian people and the elected representatives of the people of many European countries who signed different declarations last year underscoring the need for a firm approach to Khomeini's anti-human regime.

The experience of the past years has demonstrated that Khomeini's heirs have taken maximum advantage of the policy of critical dialogue to export terrorism and fundamentalism beyond Iran's borders.
