Iranian Resistance condemns arrest of Iranian asylum-seeker in Turkey

Reports say that an Iranian asylum-seeker, Mansour Sabet-Qadam, who had taken part in a sit-in along with a group of other Iranian asylum-seekers in Ankara, was arrested on Tuesday, August 20, and is about to be deported to Iran.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran condemns the arrest of this asylum-seeker and appeals to international human rights organizations, particularly the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, to secure his release.

Earlier this week, the UN Sub-Commission of Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities strongly condemned the continuing human rights violations by Khomeini's anti-human regime. Thus, instead of arresting and harassing defenseless asylum-seekers, the Turkish government must provide the necessary means and facilities to expedite the granting of refugee status to the victims of the mullahs' repression and terror seeking refuge in Turkey.

It should also pursue and prosecute the clerical regime's terrorists and close down its embassy and missions whose only task is to spy on, plan and carry out the murder of Iranian dissidents and asylum-seekers in Turkey.
