Outcome of critical dialogue with the mullahs

Jomhouri-Islami daily yesterday condemned the European Union's "improper request" to annul the death decree on Salman Rushdie. It wrote: "Any Iranian guarantee on the Rushdie affair contradicts the fundamental policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran and no official is able to make such a mistake."

Such statements clearly demonstrate how the policy of appeasement- i.e. the critical dialogue and the EU's placating agreement with the religious, terrorist dictatorship ruling Iran- emboldens the regime in its criminal policies inside and outside Iran.

As it has repeatedly announced, the National Council of Resistance of Iran demands an end to the critical dialogue as it is against the best interests of the Iranian people. The only effective policy is imposing a decisive trade embargo on this anti-human regime.
