Iranian Resistance condemns murder of Christian priest in Iran

The National Council of Resistance of Iran strongly condemns the criminal murder of an Iranian priest, Mr. Mohammad Bagher Yussefi, known as Mohammad Ravanbakhsh, by the religious, terrorist dictatorship ruling Iran.

According to reports, the body of Mr. Ravanbakhsh, 34, the pastor of the Assemblies of God churches in Sari and Gorgan (northern Iran), was found near Qa'emshahr, while hanged from a tree.

This tragic murder is but an example of the inhuman suppression of Christians, as well as the followers of other religions, by the clerical regime. It attests to the mullahs' disregard for human rights and international standards.

Preventing religious rituals, prohibition of religious teachings, imposition of teachings prescribed by the state, forcing compulsory veiling upon non-Muslim women and girls and all forms of discrimination against the employment of religious minorities comprise some of the shameful practices of the anti-human mullahs.

The Iranian Resistance calls on the followers of Christ and all the human rights organizations to condemn the atrocities of this regime against the religious minorities in Iran. Silence and inaction towards the mullahs will only embolden them in pursuing their suppressive policies.
