Netherlands is responsible for the safety and security of Iranian asylum-seekers

Yesterday, Mr. Wim Kok, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands said that returning Iranian asylum seekers to the mullahs' religious, terrorist dictatorship was not "an irresponsible act."

Subsequently, Ms. Badr-ol Zaman Pour-Tabbakh, the NCR representative in the Netherlands, recalled the Dutch government's responsibility for the safety and security of Iranian asylum seekers. She reiterated that under no circumstances should the unalienable and sacred right to asylum be tarnished due to political and economic considerations.

Ms. Pour-Tabbakh added: "How can one speak of returning Iranian asylum-seekers to a regime which had so far been condemned 40 times by various organs of the United Nations for persistent and flagrant human rights abuses and whose leaders were identified by a court in Berlin as principals behind the murder of Iranian dissidents abroad."
