Widespread clashes in Tehran

This afternoon, scores were wounded as members of Guards Corps and Intelligence Ministry agents attacked a pro-Khatami rally in the capital's Laleh Park. The attackers fired tear gas and used knuckle-dusters to beat their opponents.

The State Security Forces assigned to the task of protecting the rally did nothing to stop the attackers.

Today's incident in Tehran marks a serious escalation in the unbridled power struggle which will further undermine the regime in its totality and expedite its overthrow at the hands of the Iranian people and Resistance. It also confirms the reality that the ruling religious, terrorist dictatorship lacks the least capacity to reform.
