5,000 Workers at Hamedan's Glass Factory continue strike and go-slow
-Nine labor protests in last week in Iran

The Mojahedin Command Headquarters inside Iran reported that the strike and go-slow by some 5,000 workers at Hamedan's Glass Factory, which began at the start of the new Iranian year (March 21), has entered its third month.

The protest is over long delays in the payment of their salaries and lack of job security.

According to the same report, in recent days hundreds of workers in Hamedan Tire Factory have also staged protests and go-slows.

This week alone, there have been nine strikes and go-slows in factories in Tehran, Isfahan, Karaj, Behshahr and Hamedan.

In the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 to May 21, 1998), the number of protest actions in different Iranian cities increased at least three-fold relative to the same period last year.
