Rigging in last year's presidential elections revealed

With the Assembly of Experts election farce less than two weeks away, the head of the clerical regime's Public Records Office announced that the actual number of eligible voters in Iran is 39 million. (Qods daily, October 7) This reveals another aspect of the widespread fraud and rigging in last May's presidential elections.

The regime's most senior officials had claimed last year that the number of eligible voters was no more than 33 million. The Iranian Resistance, however, announced at the time that the actual number was 39 million.

The false figures given by the regime then was an attempt to raise the voter turnout and cover up the Iranian people's boycott of the presidential elections.
