Palestinian minister, Iranian Resistance leader meet in Baghdad

Mr. Azzam Al-Ahmad, the Minister for Public Services in the Palestinian government and a member of the National Parliament, met and held talks with Mr. Massoud Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance and Commander in Chief of the National Liberation Army of Iran.

On behalf of Mr. Yasser Arafat, President of the Palestinian Autonomous state, Mr. Azzam Al-Ahmad met with Mr. Rajavi to explain the latest political developments in Palestine. He conveyed Mr. ArafatŐs regards and best wishes for the Iranian Resistance's President-elect, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, and the NCR President. Mr. Al-Ahmad congratulated the successes of the Iranian Resistance and expressed his wishes for the victory of the National Council of Resistance.

The Palestinian minister emphasized that the recent positions of Tehran regime's leaders against the people and government of Palestine clearly show that there have been no changes whatsoever in the clerical regime, and that export of crisis and meddling in the internal affairs of Arab and Muslim countries continue to be among its priorities.

Mr. Azzam Al-Ahmad added that contrary to the hysteric falsities and propaganda disseminated by Iran's ruling mullahs, the government of Palestine has now focused on the advancement and implementation of the articles of the Oslo Accord which include the establishment of a Palestinian government on every piece of Palestinian land liberated or evacuated. The capital of this government is the city of Qods occupied since 1967. It is up to the National Parliament and people of Palestine to decide on the Palestinian charter, which is a solely Palestinian affair, relating to them alone.

Mr. Al-Ahmad also emphasized that, like the past three decades, the Palestinian movement supports the Iranian Resistance under the leadership of Mr. Massoud Rajavi. This Resistance is the only alternative for Iran and a guarantee for friendship and fraternity in the region, he said.

The NCR President asked Mr. Azzam Al-Ahmad to convey his regards and best wishes to President Arafat, head of the Palestinian Autonomous state. Mr. Rajavi condemned the enmity of the leaders of the clerical regime to peace and freedom, and expressed pleasure that their terrorist conspiracies against the Mr. Arafat's life have been foiled. Mr. Rajavi described the anti-Arafat statements and positions of the mullahs' regime as a blatant affront to all the people of Palestine.

Mr. Rajavi added: As the conflicts aggravate within the clerical regime particularly after the turning point of the Assembly of Experts' elections, the mullahs are more in need of resorting to such attempts to conceal their deadly crises. The Iranian Resistance has always emphasized that Iran's clerical regime is the fountainhead of terrorism and fundamentalism and poses the main threat to peace and tranquillity in this part of the world.

The NCR President reiterated that the free Iran of tomorrow will become the focal point of peace, stability, friendship and good neighborliness in the region.
