Statement No. 3
- People in Ilam demonstrate against election sham

This morning a large group of people in Ilam staged a demonstration in the city's Sa'di square to protest against the "Islamic Councils' election" sham. The Guards Corps, security and intelligence forces attacked the demonstration and arrested a number of people, Mojahedin's Command Headquarters inside Iran reported.

There were also extensive protests in the city on Wednesday and Thursday, which led to clashes between the demonstrators and the Guards Corps. The people were chanting slogans against the regime's leaders and mullah Ya'ssoubi, Ilam's Friday prayer leader, a key official in charge of suppression in the city for a long time.

The protest and clashes occurred in front of the city's hospital and high schools in Be'that street and 22 of Bahman square. The clerical regime dispatched Guards Corps and security forces from Tehran and Kermanshah to the city as reinforcement .

Mojahedin's Command Headquarters reports that until 3:30 p.m., Tehran time, polling stations continue to be deserted especially in Tehran and western provinces. In its programs, devoted entirely to the election coverage, the state television was unable to show even one scene of a large voter turnout, especially in the capital.
