Chief terrorist appointed as head of Iran's powerful financial conglomerate

The clerical regime's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei today appointed Mohammad Foruzandeh as the head of the Foundation of the Deprived, the largest financial and trade conglomerate in Iran which bankrolls many secret projects undertaken by the mullahs' regime, among them secret procurement of proscribed weapons or terrorist attacks abroad.

Foruzandeh, who holds the rank of a brigadier general in the Guards Corps, was the Minister of Defense in Rafsanjani's cabinet. As a permanent member of the regime's Supreme National Security Council under Rafsanjani, he played a crucial role in the decision-making process for the assassination of Iranian dissidents abroad. Foruzandeh was appointed as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces in 1989.

Foruzandeh carried out many projects to procure and develop weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them, namely missiles. During his term as Minister of Defense, he traveled to a number of countries for this purpose, including a trip to China in August 1996 at the head of a high-level military delegation to negotiate the purchase of missile technology and other specialized weapons.
